executive cabinet

The Executive Cabinet is the core administrative and programming body of UBCA. This student-led team coordinates signature events, oversees financial and political strategy, leads internal operations, and serves as the first point of contact for Black students seeking resources, advocacy, and support. The advisory board of UBCA is made up of UT Austin faculty, staff, and alumni and maintains institutional continuity.

what does the cabinet do?

UBCA’s Executive Cabinet is divided into four core committees:

  • Plans and runs events like New Black Student Weekend, Black Inauguration, and Black Graduation

  • Manages UBCA’s brand, digital presence, outreach, and design strategy

  • Leads advocacy, voter education, civic engagement, and strategic partnerships

  • Handles budgeting, fundraising, grant oversight, and nonprofit compliance

Cabinet members also collaborate on organizational strategy, inter-org communication, and community initiatives across campus. Each committee is led by a Chair, supported by a Vice Chair, committee members, and Administrative Assistants, who take on special projects and flexible roles across the organization.
