BLACK PRESIDENT’S

LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

LEADERSHIP THAT LASTS

The Black Presidents Leadership Council (BPLC) is UBCA’s leadership roundtable, composed of the presidents of all officially registered Black umbrella organizations at UT Austin. BPLC is where Black student leadership meets strategy, with a focus on long-term planning, campus-wide coordination, and retention-centered impact.

Presidents in BPLC help shape the direction of UBCA, advise the Executive Cabinet and Senate, and ensure that Black student life at UT remains visible, collaborative, and well-resourced.

WHAT DOES BPLC DO?

Guides cross-organizational programming and shared policy

Aligns event calendars through strategic planning

Supports transitions, elections, and org compliance

Advises UBCA leadership on community needs

Ensures collective visibility and coordination in the post-DEI era

BLACK INAUGURATION

  • Brianna McBride Award (Student Advocacy)

Gavel personalization is optional and available upon request through the registration.

Inauguration registration is currently closed but will reopen soon.
Open to all Black presidents, regardless of org type.

To remain in good standing:

  • Your org must have an active senator who attends UBCA Senate meetings

  • Your president must attend BPLC meetings regularly

  • Your org should participate in General Assembly meetings, UBCA events, and promotion efforts

Grant decisions are based on overall organizational engagement, not just attendance.

Be active, visible, and collaborative to be prioritized, but you will never be penalized.
